FRP Food Delivery Box

FRP Food Delivery Box Designed for Honda E:Swap | Creative Fibrotech Case Study

Honda approached us to create a lightweight, durable, and insulated food delivery box for their electric two-wheeler platform, the HONDA E:SWAP. Existing options in the market were bulky, inefficient, or not built for EVs.We designed and delivered a custom FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) delivery box that fit the vehicle perfectly and improved delivery speed, food safety, and rider convenience.

  • CLIENT: Honda E:Swap
  • SECTOR: Automobile
  • NEED: Strong and durable delivery box for food safety and speed delivery.

The Challenge

Honda needed a food delivery box that could:

  • Fit seamlessly on their E:Swap electric scooters
  • Keep food hot or cold for extended periods
  • Be tough enough for daily urban deliveries
  • Stay lightweight to preserve battery performance
  • Be easy for delivery riders to use, secure, and clean

The market did not have a solution that checked all these boxes. Honda needed something purpose-built and fast.

Our Solution

We designed a custom FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) Food Delivery Box tailored specifically for the Honda E:Swap system. The fundamental features of these delivery boxes include:

  • Lightweight and durable FRP construction
  • Thermally insulated inner lining to maintain food temperature
  • Food-grade materials for hygiene and safety
  • Quick-mount systems designed for E:Swap compatibility
  • Lockable and weather-resistant exterior for rider confidence
  • Sleek design to match the modern aesthetics of Honda’s EV

Our goal was to build a box that worked as strongly as the vehicle and rider.

Implementation Process

We collaborated with Honda’s engineering team to understand technical constraints and delivery use cases. Then, we created initial 3D models and built working prototypes. These were tested for fit, thermal performance, and rider usability. Our team evaluated FRP under real-world delivery conditions, like heat, vibration, moisture, and impact resistance. We installed prototype boxes on E:Swap vehicles in select urban delivery zones. Lastly, we greenlit the final version for scaled manufacturing with a streamlined mounting system and clean design lines.

Through a focused consultation, we understood exactly what the university needed. Our design team crafted a custom plan to build a cabin that is both practical and visually appealing. Once the design was locked in, we moved fast in manufacturing the FRP cabin in record time. We managed the delivery, installation, and setup smoothly.

Results & Impact

The FRP box met Honda’s expectations and helped increase the entire delivery experience. It is 30% lighter than traditional delivery boxes on the market. Moreover, it has better heat retention, which keeps food fresh for a longer time. The FRP delivery box also enjoys reduced rider prep time with easy mounting in under 15 seconds.
